The PlumCardSM — "The First Everything, Everywhere Trade Terms Card from American Express OPEN" — was exclusively designed to deliver trade-like terms in the transaction simplicity of a Card for small businesses with high materials costs and variable cash flow. Developed by small business owners for small business owners, The PlumCardSM gives Cardmembers the option to choose every month to receive either an early pay discount of up to 2% on Card purchases or the ability to defer payment up to two months. The Card was unveiled at the Inc 500 conference in Chicago and supported with a web, print advertising and DRTV campaign that helped build buzz for the Card and quickly attract an initial target of 10,000 small business customers.
