Principals
John Ellett — CEO and Managing Partner
As nFusion’s chief executive officer, John Ellett is responsible for leading the teams that provide clients with full-service sales and marketing programs that generate results. Ellett directs the strategic marketing vision for nFusion Group clients, helping them refine their business models and prioritize marketing efforts. In 1994, he founded The Ellett Group and since has advised and trained companies such as Toshiba, PeopleSoft, Novell, Dell, Microsoft and Motorola on customer acquisition and retention, channel and product strategy, and marketing program implementation. Hundreds of high-tech marketers have participated in Ellett’s results-centric High-Tech Marketing Boot Camp seminar series since 1995. Prior to founding The Ellett Group, Ellett served as the senior executive at Dell Computer Corporation responsible for its North American marketing organization. At Dell, he planned and executed marketing strategies, including advertising and direct marketing, from 1987 to 1994. Ellett has also taught high-tech marketing at Indiana University’s Graduate School of Business.
Thomas Martin — Managing Partner
In the role of managing partner for nFusion, Tom Martin provides strategic advice to clients to help them improve their overall business results. Before co-founding nFusion Group, Martin was Dell Computer Corporation’s vice president of business development and marketing, where he directed worldwide marketing, product management and brand strategy. Prior to his positions at Dell, he served as vice president of marketing for Toshiba, vice president of the laptop business unit of NEC and senior consultant with McKinsey & Company. Martin sits on the boards of Absolute Multimedia, Convergence Development, Sovereign Funds, Accent Capital, the Jack S. Blanton Museum of Art and Austin Lyric Opera.
Jay Watson — Managing Partner
Jay Watson helped establish nFusion and serves as a managing partner, bringing his unique perspective to sales and marketing integration. Watson previously held senior sales and marketing positions with Dell from 1987 to 1998. There, he was integral in developing and evolving the company’s business-to-business segment, which grew from less than 10 percent of Dell’s revenue to more than 75 percent. While at Dell, he led several new “start-up” initiatives including field sales, retail, relaunch of the notebook line, mid-market business development and large corporate account segmentation. Prior to Dell, Watson held sales positions at IBM. Watson currently serves as a Partner in the Eyes of Texas Partners, and is Chairman and Founding Director of The First Tee of Greater Austin.
