Samsung and nFusion take it to the streets of SXSW to promote their notebook product launch.
Samsung ITD made its debut at the South by Southwest (SXSW) Interactive Festival with the goal of increasing awareness of the mobile PC products currently available at Best Buy stores and BestBuy.com. With the recent launch of Samsung’s R80 series, this was an ideal time to continue public relations efforts and maximize lead capture.
Samsung conducted an online sweepstakes to promote its new line of notebooks and netbook available at Best Buy. Samsung and nFusion formed a street team to scour the streets of Austin during SXSW Interactive to encourage conference goers to enter the contest . Members of the street team also had products in hand to give the participants a hands-on experience with the new technology.
Participants entered the sweepstakes by visiting the Samsung booth at the trade show, completing the form online via the Samsung street team or using their own computers or mobile devices to complete the form. To encourage participation the street team hosted a trivia game where participants played to win Best Buy gift cards.
The campaign was a huge success and the street team gained significant attention both online and offline during SXSW. Approximately 30 blogs and news sites picked up Samsung’s presence at SXSW Interactive during the weekend. The team was able register over 2,000 participants in the online sweepstakes.
